We stayed elsewhere, but dined here on New Year's Eve. Both had shrimp & corn soup, then fried shrimp; everything was just fine, and we're particular ! This is a very good place, but the driveway is poorly marked at night. Our waiter, "Ken" was just great, too. I say "Try It !"

Had lunch here with some guests. The restaurant is located on the grounds of a beautiful plantation. The interior is gorgeous. The food and service were top notch. We particularly enjoyed the fried fish platter. I was there with my service dog and they were very accommodating and friendly.

Nice little place if you are staying in saint Francis Louisiana. We had artichoke dip, boudin balls, and a cup of gumbo to start. Gumbo was our favorite. Followed by catfish strips, étouffée and BBQ shrimp with French toast. Nothing to complain about here. The plantation that the restaurant sits on is supposed to be haunted. We didn't stick around to find out if it was or not.

Great atmosphere, food, wines & service. I especially like their evening specials & steaks. Love the staff, most who came from The Oxbow.

The setting is lovely. We had fried pickles for an appetizer, and they were the best fried pickles I've ever had. For lunch I had the fried green tomatoes, and they were weird. There was a bleu cheese sauce along with lump crab meat that tasted off to me... so I didn't eat any crab. The sauce was overpowering. Service was fairly slow. I would not make an effort to go here, but it's convenient if you're doing plantation tours.

This is a beautiful restaurant. We stayed at the Myrtles for the evening and ate both lunch an dinner at this restaurant. Great food great service with a nice southern menu. Excellent cocktails/beer selection which they let you enjoy on the plantation patio outside. I had southern specialties and my son had a French dip. All in all amazing!! We came to the plantation to stay so it is so nice that there is an excellent eatery so close. There isn't much else in St. Francesville.

My wife and I went to The Myrtles for our first Halloween living in Louisiana. We started by going to the Carriage House restaurant. I thought it was a little bit over priced, you are mostly paying for the atmosphere...but not too bad because for the price the food is pretty good and you get a lot of it. My wife, being a vegetarian, had a hard time finding something to eat there, but they had a few alright options for her. The waitstaff was really awkward...they kept coming over to see if we needed anything by saying something like "now, I am not rushing you..." then standing awkwardly next to our table even after we said that everything was going well and we did not need anything else. The waitstaff was part upscale part Louisiana...even they seem confused about what they were supposed to be doing. After our dinner we did a self guided tour around the plantation. I didnt find it to be as creepy as a lot of people were making it out to be...until I got to a long, tall, narrow, crooked staircase. I took a pic of it, and kept going. Later on I found out that the only documented murder in the plantation took place on those stairs! The house was really beautiful inside, and grounds and slave quarters were really cool too! I had never been to a plantation before, neither had my wife, and we were both really happy we made the drive out there.

I couldn't think of a better place to have a good meal, after attending the Angola prison rodeo. To boot, this place is a part of the historic Myrtles plantation, apparently one of America's more infamous haunted houses (if you are into that), and worthy of a visit in its own right. The location is only about 25 miles from the penitentiary, and right on US 61 and basically the only way out of the area. We had shrimp etoufee, grilled tuna, and pork marsala, and all dishes were tasty and nicely prepared. Prices were reasonable for the quality, and not touristy given the historic venue. We needed to hit the road and had their locally renowned bread pudding to go, and it was delectable. I would highly recommend this place if visiting the area.

Don't bother! Over prized food for a very average meal. We went on New Year's And while we had reservations we had to wait for a long while and there wasn't even a host to point us to the bar. Once we were finally sorted we were left there without even a glass of water. We were expecting good southern, Cajun food. The chargrilled oyster were neither chaired nor grilled, just luke warm and slimy, we should have just send them back and leave! Then the main course arrived I had order the fish of the day. They messed up the sides and there was nothing special either. Not worth, Not worth at all! Go to the Magnolia Cafe, much better food and reasonably priced!

Crawfish and corn soup was delicious. Hint of heat in a rich and sweet creamy stock. Excellent food and wait staff.
